Below are three interesting documents. The first is a blank Melting Shop Report sheet which was given to me by one of the Leading Hand Furnacemen. It clearly shows all the details required for producing a cast of open hearth steel and fortunately it has survived. The second document is a schematic view of Elisabeth from a very large blueprint I was given by the Drawing Office. This can be enlarged by clicking on the image and further enlarged to a readable size by clicking on the “arrow” X which will appear at bottom right. Finally there is an interesting list of UK blast furnaces for comparison with Elisabeth.
